I hear you Mike, but I don't know if weekly transactions is the answer. Everyone is playing within the rules as they stand right now, even if some GMs don't particularly like the streaming of players for extra games. It is one thing to allow players to be called up from your farm without limit as opposed to streaming in the playoffs. Calling up players from your farm is utilizing assets you already have to overcome a Yahoo shortfall, whereas what we are seeing here is GMs doing everything within the rules to try and defeat their opposition. What may be a solution to implement for next year during the playoffs only is: - farm eligible players already on your farm team can still move freely between the farm and pro teams; - FA can only be picked up to replace a player that has gone on IR/IR+; - GMs can only add a new farm eligible player to the farm that is not currently playing in the NHL. A team that has been eliminated from the playoffs would not be limited in the moves they may wish to implement, provided they are still at 30 or less FA moves in the year. These are only my initial thoughts, but perhaps something like the above will work to limit the streaming in the playoffs. Thoughts welcomed. |

I like your initial thoughts. Anything that puts a stop to streaming gets my vote. We should probably save this topic for the off season, I'm sure it will be a hot topic.
