Prospect Draft

Please indicate when you will be able to participate in the prospect draft. We should ideally go for a consensus opinion here. With the summer nigh high upon us, many of you undoubtedly have plans to take some holidays, whereby your access to a computer may be quite limited.

As the Proboards site is open for trading anytime, the prospect draft itself should not impact your trading plans.

Perhaps everyone could comment in this thread to help nail down when the best time for everyone actually is.

I say asap, so def in July, I wouldn't even mind doing it BEFORE the actual NHL draft, as it would be interesting for the GMs here to do there own work and decide on talents, rather then just picking in the rough order that the NHL teams do. But I doubt very many people would like that.

In any case I will be out of country, end of August till end of September on my honeymoon so would really like to do it before then.

Are you leaving by the 5th or do we just need to get it started by then. It's going to take 2-3 weeks to complete the entry draft, mostly because its summer and a lot of guys are hard to get a hold of.

Exactly Steve. But I still don't see a "now" for the draft vote. Am I the only one who wants to do it now. Summer is busy for all of us so doing it now makes sense

Also it doesn't need to take 2-3 weeks, we could do it in a couple hours, just set a date/time and have everyone on YIM to talk/make there picks. If people can't show up they can leave a ranking of picks with you and they just take whoever next on there list is.

Wedding is on July 6th and leaving for a honeymoon the next day until the end of July - someone trade for my only two 3rd round picks in this year's draft and we won't need to worry about my availability!

I can only speak for myself here. I don't like the idea of a live draft if I don't have to do it. Reason is, I like to look closely at who is left and then try and decide what is in the best interest of my team. There might be a reason to change my line of thinking or perhaps re-jig when I make a certain pick.

I also don't like to rush through something like this if I don't have to. We've got all the time in the world, so if it takes a bit of time, so be it.

I'm on vacation the 1st 3 weeks of July. With all the travel I'm doing this year those 3 weeks are 100% dedicated to Felicia, Jack, and Thomas. With a part of one day visiting with Lucas in Cali!

Heck, as long as the plane I'm on makes it safely across the US i'll hit Chairman with USAir tomorrow morning (exceeded 100k miles in 2013)...ouch

Anyway, if we do something with an 8 hour window that stops after midnight eastern and 8am eastern that would work for me but otherwise my July doesn't have much time during weeks 1-3. June is decent and early to mid August is great for me but sucks for others.

To make it easier I can trade my picks to anyone other than Lee ;-)

That's right Steve. Most guys will be away during the summer so that's why I think we should have a "NOW" vote inthere as well. If we have it in July or August it will last for 2-3 weeks

If you can convince enough guys to go for it, then we will. Feel free to start a poll if you want Lee. I would recommend that you wait until after this vote is complete though.

I see your point of waiting till after this vote regarding a poll on a NOW vote. That imo would be a waste. No need to have another poll to see if anyone wants to poll again. Majority will rule so we'll go with that. I voted after Labour Day just to be a rebel. Get ready for a LONG draft day guys. Sorry mean week or more
