I don't see any need for a roster freeze as no GM has any advantage over any other GM. If a GM wants to do research and add a player or two, then it hardly changes anything in the league. As long as a GM has roster moves available for the 2019-20 season, then he is free to add/drop players as he sees fit.
The only time we go into a roster freeze is after our playoffs have completed. This allows all GMs to become roster compliant by dropping any additional players they had added to cover off on their injured players. It also allows everyone to pay their league fees for the next season. We then pick a date/time to start up the league again where all GMs have an equal opportunity to add any other free agents they want.

Am I mistaken in that we are still officially in playoffs or at least hopeful we will have some sort of way to finish out the season for the playoff teams, if the NHL is able to?
Am I the only one who thinks this we should be on hold? If so, never ye mind.
Let's just open up trading and have at it!

I am hopeful that we will have some sort of way to finish out our playoffs, but I don't expect anything to happen regarding the completion of our playoffs. I expect the NHL to still have the playoffs in some form, but Yahoo will likely just cancel the season as is for us. Until the NHL/Yahoo announces something new, we are on pause. As far as adding free agents, you still can add 2 new players to your roster during this match up. For all intents and purposes, that is about all you can do for now. You can also do what Glenn did and make yourself roster compliant for next year; other than that, until we get official word advising otherwise, it is thumb twiddling time.

I agree that GMs who have saved any of their 20 moves (not me) should be able to use any of them considering our season is not (technically) over.. up to 2 in the current indefinitely pending matchup.

I'm really not trying to stir the pot here, but this was exactly my point (and still is). We never discussed how to handle GMHL roster moves once we learned the NHL was going on pause; clearly there is still confusion, and so my suggestion for full GMHL pause was warranted, or at least a plan laid out on how things should be run, but was not. I realize I am a co-commissioner and should have brought this up earlier, but I did not and regret not.
Again, please ignore if I'm the only one who thinks this but I still believe we should be on full pause.

Hey Ry, I understand you have concerns, but I am not seeing your point here. When we did go on pause, I did consider banning any roster moves, but couldn't think of reason why a ban should be imposed, or what possible harm there could be in allowing GMs to make a move or two.
There are a number of teams that have maxed out their moves for the season and/or for this playoff round. Normally, at this time of year, GMs usually sign a few players from the NCAA or one of the major overseas leagues; that is the KHL, SHL, Liiga, et cetera.
I think that by keeping acquisitions in place, it keeps GMs engaged and it allows them to do some planning for next season. If anything, keeping the limit at 2 player acquisitions for this playoff rounds keeps everything relatively in check as no one can have more than 2 adds. I for one would love to add another player if not two, but I've already made my two moves.
I haven't heard anyone else express any reservations about adding players, so if anyone does have some concerns please do weigh in so that we can have an informed discussion.
Happy to discuss further with anyone.

I'm good with finishing off the moves as a 2 move max per round which technically we're still in. I'm also out of moves so it doesn't really apply to me right now until we collectively come to the realization that the NHL regular season which our fantasy playoff season is based upon is over. I'd almost table the proposal to call it a fantasy season immediately, come to some consensus on handing out prize money, confirm everyone's participation for next season, get all dues collected so we can start the new fantasy league year in preparation for the draft and gets some trade talk stimulated within 3-4 weeks.

I think we should be on full pause until the NHL decides what is next. I understand we don't have anything going on, but with the league on full pause I think we should be too. Unless we decide to open everything up, our league can wait.

Sorry Glenn, while you ultimately will likely be proven right....it ain't over until the fat lady signs. Zero reason not to wait until NHL brings some finality to the season before we react accordingly on a season-end.
