Thanks pal! I agree with the centres unless they bring one in via trade.
One way contract means that the player has to clear NHL waivers before being sent to the farm and if any team decides to pick them up, that team assumes the players contract. Two way contract players can be recalled and returned to/from the farm willingly without having to clear NHL waivers.
If Frattin finds his way to the Marlies, he will be dropped!

Yea, there's tons of guys claimed if waivers. But one way does mean if the player makes 1.1 mil in NHL, he makes the same if he clears waivers in AHL. Two way means 1.1 mil in NHL, then 750K i'm AHL. There are players that ate on two way contracts that would still have to clear waivers to be sent down to the AHL.

Interesting article for sure as I wasn't really sure about the waivers either.
In a lot of cases, if you are on a 2 way contract, your salary will be reduced to 10% of your Pro contract when you are sent down to a team's AHL affiliate. Someone like Frattin on a 1 way contract will get his full 600K no matter what. The Leafs could simply say, meh, we'll send him down, it's only 600K.
If I'm not mistaken, if a team does claim a player off of re-entry waivers, the original player's team is on the hook to pay 1/2 of the salary at the Pro level. This occurs when you are trying to call a player you placed on waivers back to the Pros.

The Ajax Knights are going on a gut feeling, signing Chris Tanev to a pro contract after finishing the season strong playing big minutes and now fighting for the final spot in the Nucks top 4 blue line and in yet another contract year.

Thanks pal! I read an interview article with Hartley talking about Colborne getting moved over to the wing this year given all the depth Calgary has at centre and also wanted to give him some PP time. Hartley said he's also put on 20 pounds this offseason and is up to 225 lbs. Went to check out the lucky GM who had him and saw he wasn't owned. Figured since he's still farm eligible he's worth a look.
